History has shown us time and time again, that the
greatest threat to democracy is the unbridled power that the state holds over
its citizenry. It is the misuse of this
power that often leads to insurrection. For us to remain a free nation and a
democracy, the people’s voice must be heard, and the people must be able to
protect themselves against villains, wheater they be the criminal on the street, or a tyrant in the statehouse. We live in a great nation, where issues like this can be openly debated and the reins of power change hands via the votes of the people. We must all take part in the political process so that this nation may continue to flourish and change with the times.
