A Message To The Black Man.

Hello all, someone posted this picture on Facebook a week or so ago.  When I saw this I just had to write something because the photo is just so true.

The intelligent black man.

He is wise with his money and wise with his time. 

He obeys the law and respects everyone. 

He is a leader in his church and in his community.

He is registered to vote and politically well informed.

He protects women and children. 

He honors his parents and his seniors. 

He is what I call a well man.

Well informed.

Well dressed.

Well groomed.

Well read.

Well spoken &

Well behaved.

In the media we (Black people), are represented by the uneducated and the unenlightened.

Amos & Andy have been replaced by rappers and athletes.

Black-face has been replaced by Grillz & Pimp cups.

When a black man commits a crime his picture will be on TV.  He will be promptly arrested.

He will be swiftly prosecuted and he will receive the maximum allowable sentence.

In case no one ever told you:

To the men,

Emulating convicts is stupid.

Being in a gang is stupid.

Going to jail is stupid.

Robbing the local liquor store or 7-11 and risking your life for $200 is stupid.

Car-jacking is stupid.

Dropping out of school is stupid.

Driving a vehicle worth more than your house is stupid.

Spending all of your money on clothes, shoes and jewelry while your bills go unpaid is stupid.

Carrying an illegal weapon is stupid.

Selling drugs is stupid.

Living off your mother or your girlfriend at 30 years old is stupid.

Having several children by several women is stupid.

Cheating on every woman you enter into a relationship with is stupid.

Sagging your pants, dragging your feet and slurring your words is stupid.

Getting tattoos on your face or your hands is stupid.

To the women,

Dressing like a hooker is stupid.

Having sex with every man who ask is stupid.

Spending all of your time, practicing stripper dancing and learning to booty clap is stupid.

Spending all of your money on a new outfit and getting your hair and your nails did to hit the club, while your bills go unpaid is stupid.

Protruding your ass or giving the middle finger in every picture you take is stupid.

Taking care of a grown man is stupid.

Staying with a man who is constantly lying to you and cheating on you is stupid.

Staying with a man who is beating you is stupid.

Allowing a man to pimp you because he loves you is stupid.

Falling in love with a married man is stupid.

Making up a name for your child that no one can spell or pronounce is stupid.

Grow the hell up!  A lot of people bled and died so that you could be here and live free in this society.

I know you think doing all of these things earns you respect in the black community and makes you appear as cool and hard.  Here is a news flash, it doesn’t.

It makes you appear as a damn fool, half of you look like circus clowns with your multi-colored shoes, oversized clothes and sagging pants!  You know your mother did not raise you to be that way.   My final words to remember, this is something I tell my sons, the strong take from the weak, but the intelligent take from the strong.

So you want to be hard.

This is how to be hard and earn respect:

First build your relationship with God.

Second, take care of and be true to your family.

Third, do your best to educate yourself.

Next, get and keep a job.

Learn what a vote is for and exercise your right to use it.

An adult does whatever they need to do to survive.  If you can do these things you will earn respect and be truly hard.  A final word from an organization headquartered in my home town.  The Christian Knights Of The Ku-Klux-Klan.  The following letter sent anonomously to a Georgia news paper explains just how stupid gang violence is.  Read it, take it to heart and stop acting up.
